State Of The Sade (1/16/2020)
Palisaders,
Sorry for the lack of updates (I believe the last one of these I made was in October of last year). There has been progress with the project, but much has remained stagnant.
The End Of The Decade Fundraiser
The end of the decade fundraiser resulted in a clothing run to GreenDrop in White Plains, New York, a charity organization that accepts used clothing to distribute to those from impoverished backgrounds. There was not a clothing drive in Philadelphia as originally planned as none of the churches responded back in time during the month of December. The clothes were distributed and received the day after Christmas.
Palisade began in 2015, halfway through the decade with no money raised, no members, no websites, nothing but a dream at that point.
Entering into 2020, the start of a new decade, Palisade has two websites, a production/recording studio in the making, an inseparable Facebook group, 8 recorded pacts, $2,000+ raised across 23 charities, ministries, and individuals from 15 different initiatives, and the dream still exists.
Not to mention this blogger page!
The Facebook Group
Facebook is probably my favorite social media just because of how much it evolves and takes new shapes. On one hand it's a professional, multi-tool for groups, organizations, universities, growing business, promotions & start-ups, artists on the rise, you name it. It's use of promotable content, videos and live streaming, content pages, hashtags, all of it prime to make even a small business go viral. On the other hand, it's littered with shitposting, memes, venting, scams, something that's, well, inappropriate.
I like to think the Facebook group Palisade created is a neat mix of both. It's an open forum, where people can say or do what they want. On one hand we do promotional material for artists and people working on launching projects of their own. On another we do self-worth emotional support for people that have gone through issues of their own. On yet another hand we allow anything, shitposting is not exempt from that, neither are political rants, we try to stay open, and for the most part its been the main stay for Palisade's members, online or off.
Palisade Productions
Some progress has been made in acquiring a studio. Right now is just a matter of gathering equipment such as recording mics, amps, lighting, cameras, jibs, pods, a multitude of other things.
Palisade is officially registered as an LLC. A website and payroll system set up through Escrow should be coming within this year or next.
Currently we're working on recording and produced two vocalists as well as a cover song music video. A short film and scriptwriting/writing workshop is also in the works.
As well as podcasts and promotional content for YouTube.
Pacts
So far, there has been little to none contribution from We The Current, Kacid Partners, and even Lasting Hope ministry, the pact which the most money has been raised. DMR Solutions however has been helping with merchandising and H2H Promotions has also been coordinating with us for some meetings in NYC along with possible future fundraisers/clothing drives in Philadelphia. HopeToMillions has also been providing us with content for inspirational videos encouraging others to consider Palisade and to also inspire courage members to give and support. The Revolutionaries band is working on starting indie record labels and preparing for our future studio. Life On Life Terms and other potential rising businesses are pacts we're interested in being the next to join Project Palisade.
Wishing you all a happy 2020 and a very special thank you to every single person who's helped this project evolve and come this far!
