Benjamin Netanyahu Scores A Fifth Term

Benjamin Netanyahu, brother of Jonathan Netanyahu who heroically fought in the rescue operation against Idi Amin in Uganda in 1976, has won a fifth term as the Prime Minister of Israel this past April.

Netanyahu's taken the face of Israeli politics for well over a decade now and his political history has been covered in controversy, tainted by the crisis of the Israeli-Palestinian civil war. Netanyahu's name became synonymous with terrorism, fraud, and greed. The U.S. has openly funded money to Israel for years now to justify the U.N.'s decision to declare Israel a country in 1945 and fulfill of Herzl's dream of restoring the Jewish state. Under Netanyahu's persuasion, the U.S. funded $3.1 billion to Israel alone, under the pretense of foreign military aid.

Historic events have happened under Netanyahu's reign. The formation of the Hezbollah, a jihadist group settled in Lebanon that despises the Israeli state, which actually just recently called out Israel's military saying they are "not prepared for war" (they are, just with U.S. money), according to The Times Of Israel journal.

Israel has long been despised by its bordering nations for the "favors" the U.N. and members of N.A.T.O. have given them since the end of WWII, from the gifts of the Marshall plan to the exemption of terrorism and to the pilgrimages of world leaders to the city of Jerusalem, and making Jerusalem the capital nonetheless; a controversial decision since the era of the Knight's crusades. Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, you name it, they're all at odds with Israel. Netanyahu's entering into perhaps his most unstable term as Prime Minister as these tensions continue to rise.

The recent bombings along the Gaza strip - which President Donald Trump paid public condolences for - are a metaphor for the state of Netanyahu's legacy right now. Unhealthy and unstable. According to Reuters, Netanyahu is issuing "massive strikes" against the Gaza terrorists currently killing Israeli civilians.

Had a new face entered into power, its true Israel may have a year of vulnerability, which would be the opportunity of a lifetime for an Iran-backed Hamas group to strike; however any other candidate was also aware of the turmoil they'd inherit for Israel's sake and perhaps may be the very ones to either eliminate Hamas jihadists or resolve conflicts for good. But because Netanyahu is the man of hour once again, his disposition towards Palestinians and the groups looking to dissolve Israel as a state will be the narrative once again entering the 2020s with no real resolution in sight, for as long as Netanyahu's in office, Israel will remain sovereign, and as long as there are Palestinians without homes, the rebels will continue to attack, and a clusterfuck similar to Syria's Civil War may arise should other nations finally, as they say in Texas Hold 'Em, bet all in on the war in Israel.
